OPENING OF THE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS OR PROPOSALS FOR THE STRATEGIC PROJECTS AND PARTNERSHIP

CATHSSETA is committed to addressing critical skills needs across its sub-sectors in line with the National Skills Development Plan (NSDP) 2030. Through impactful programmes, we aim to drive economic growth, combat youth unemployment, and respond to national priorities.

Who Can Submit Proposals: 

CATHSSETA invites specifically levy-paying employers, government departments, Higher Educational Institutions, and organisations working with persons with disabilities within our sub-sectors to submit proposals aligned with our strategic priorities and desired outcomes.

Proposal Requirements: 

Submissions must directly respond to the CATHSSETA’s strategic priorities as outlined in the Sector Skills Plan (SSP) and the eight (8) outcomes of the NSDP, 2030. More attention shall be paid to the proposals or applications that seek to respond to addressing the triple challenges facing South Africa, namely: unemployment, inequality and poverty. Submissions should be sent to partnershipproposals@cathsseta.org.za. Proposers must also indicate their contribution towards the implementation of the partnership.

Please note: Only submissions prepared using the prescribed template that is made available on the CATHSSETA’s website for this specific call shall be accepted.  Do not use the previous forms that were issued in previous years, as your application shall not be considered.

Evaluation Criteria: 

All proposals shall be evaluated in accordance with CATHSSETA’s Strategic Projects and Partnership Policy and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). https://www.cathsseta.org.za/partnership_proposals

The CATHSSETA hereby invites suitable employers, stakeholders and interested parties to apply for Strategic Projects funding.
In this Strategic Projects (SP) window, CATHSSETA will be allocating funding for Workshops.

The following stakeholders and legal entities operating within the CATHSSETA sub-sectors are invited to apply for the 2025/26 Strategic Projects (Non-PIVOTAL) funding:

Join the realignment and development of Occupational Qualifications in the Culture, Arts, Tourism, Hospitality, and Sport Sectors (CATHSSETA)

CATHSSETA invites all industry stakeholders to actively participate in the realignment, development, and review of occupational qualifications across our sub-sectors. This strategic process is critical to ensuring that our education and training offerings remain relevant, responsive, and aligned with industry needs. Why Get Involved? By participating in this process, you will contribute to: 

• Realigning outdated legacy qualifications to meet the standards of the Occupational Qualifications Sub-Framework (OQSF);
• Reviewing existing occupational qualifications to ensure their continued relevance and responsiveness to industry changes;
• Enhancing the quality of training and ensuring alignment with the current needs of the sub-sectors;
• Improving learner employability by equipping them with practical, workplace-ready skills recognised by employers;
• Building a future-focused skills ecosystem within the Culture, Arts, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport industries.

Stakeholders participating in these qualification processes may be compensated in accordance with the Department of Public Service and Administration (DBSA) rates, currently ranging between R350 per hour.
