PUBLIC COMMENT ON OCCUPATIONAL PROFILES

CATHSSETA has made an application to realign existing legacy qualifications registered on the NQF to new occupational qualifications through the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO). The overall project goal is to ensure that these qualifications do not expire without having new occupational qualifications. On the 4th and 5th of July 2019, CATHSSETA held a scoping and profiling meeting during which the Qualification Development Facilitator covered a number of areas (i.e. OFO codes & curriculum parameters) before the actual occupational profile was developed.

We now require your input into the Occupational Profiles.

The QCTO definition of an Occupational Profile:

The occupational profile includes a statement of the purpose and tasks to be performed by an individual. Each occupational task is defined as a combination of the product or service to be delivered, the occupational responsibility towards that product or service and the occupational context within which that product or service is provided. An occupational task is therefore not a mechanical or rote completion of actions and is frequently internationally benchmarked.
