E-LEARNING PLATFORMS ARE NOW APPROVED

The COVID-19 pandemic and the nationwide lockdown resulted in training providers stopping contact sessions with learners. As a result, education, training and development has changed drastically, with the distinctive rise of e-learning, whereby teaching is undertaken remotely and on digital platforms. Training Providers have taken an initiative to conduct training via e-learning platforms.

On 1 May 2020, the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) published the COVID–19 Memorandum 1 on opening up e-learning on the Occupational Qualifications Sub-Framework (OQSF).

The current situation is that training providers were accredited to implement face-to-face training and therefore now they need approval to use e-learning platforms. Training providers are encouraged to apply for the approval of their e-learning platforms by contacting any of the following ETQA officials:
